Raglan's Classic Car & Rock 'n' Roll Festival Committee March 9th 2008 The sun shone on Raglan, nestled on the West Coast of NZ - chrome glistened - music filled the air, 200 classic car's filled the streets of Raglan to wow the most discerning classic car fanatic. Everyone had a favourite - tailfins - chrome - exquisite paint work - novelty features - time turned back the clock, young and old joined the festival atmosphere, voted their particular favourite to be "The People's Choice" of the day. Rock 'n' Roll filled the air opening with and delighting the crowd Al Dawson and The Wildkats - music filled the air waves. New Zealand iconic rockers Tom Sharplin and Larry Morris played nostalgic favourites, the "King" even popped in for a tune. Organisers where delighted with community response - visitors to the event and a real plus the ability to donate funds raised to two local community groups: Raglan St John and Raglan Trust Waikato Surf Life Saving. |
